Pepper Spray

Image
Super short email today! I know it has been a few weeks, and I hope everyone's doing well!  I am having the best time serving the people here in Saginaw. The Elders make my days so much better, and we get to have a lot of member meals together, which have been a ton of fun. Today, we got to help one of our members move his couch. He only has one leg, and he is hilarious.  Elder Lowder ( our zone leader ) is going home after this transfer, so we've kinda been doing some last-minute bucket list activities. We pepper sprayed each other a couple of Mondays ago. 10/10 do not recommend. I was screaming, crying, and throwing up. Not worth the curiosity, it was a memorable experience, to say the least.  God is so good. I'm learning more and more about how to rely on the Spirit, and I'm seeing his hand more in my everyday life. He is in the details.  Info about some photos ( not in order ) • Match with the ZLs at zone conference  • The huge youth group in our ward a...

Saginawesome!

I'm not sure who came up with the phrase "sagnasty" but it ain't true. Saginaw is an amazing area! Tuesday (Owosso) Hard day saying goodbye to everyone. Sister Abegglen and I asked Brother Riley for a blessing before transfers, and he was SO happy. He fell apart in tears. He hasn't been able to attend church for a while because of his health. Brother Riley also hasn't been able to use his preisthood authority in a long time, so he was more than excited when we asked. We gave Grace a tight hug and Terry a nice firm handshake... haha. I gave AJ a good noogie on the head and told him to stay out of trouble. Love that kid. Being able to attend those 3 baptisms in Owosso has strengthened my testimony of not only Baptism but of the Holy Ghost as well. Seeing the change in a 74, 18, and 8 year old has shown me the power of the priesthood. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has the proper authority to baptize. I know that to be true! Wednesday: Transfers!...

TRANSFERS

Packing my bags, and I'm headed to.... SAGINAW! ( people call it Sagnasty so that's rlly cool..) It's about 45 minutes north of Owosso, and I will be in the Midland Zone! My new companion will be Sister Lee. I'm so excited to meet her!! My trainer, Sister Abegglen is actually leaving Owosso as well. They are bringing two new sisters here. We both got to bare our testimonies in church yesterday, and yes, we both cried. It was so sad. This was my first area and packing up today is killing me! Change will be good though. This week was VERY productive.  We got in contact with 4 of our referrals and set up appointments with each of them. We gave out almost 10 Bibles & 10 Book of Mormons, had dinner appointments with 5 different memebers, got to do some service in Lansing for the clothing drive, and we even met an inactive member on the street and set up a time to go visit her and her fam! Now is not the time to leave Owosso haha. Bagel and I have worked hard to make frie...

Two Missionaries Walk Into A Bar...

Image
SUCH A GOOD WEEK.  Let's get into it!  What's my fav food? Cheeseburgers. Tuesday night, I was looking up Burger Restaurants in Owosso. "The Rainbow Bar" popped up, and the reviews were amazing, so I told my comp about it, and we went. We walk in and it's like a striaght up biker gang type of bar, and here we are in our skirts, holding our bibles walking in. We got some attention from a few men at the bar and we ordered our food. We introduced ourselves while we ate, and one guy said he's seen missionaries around before, and we were like "Thats awesome! Do you know what we do?" And he goes... " You help people." In a soft, sweet voice. We started choppin it up with these guys that were 3 beers in and ended up giving one of them a Book of Mormon! We got his number and took a pic with him and everything! His name is Bird! Good guy. The spirit was strong in this lil Owosso Bar.  Saturday morning, we woke up at 6am to go kill 2 cows. It was so ...

Think Celestial

Image
Vancouver is getting a TEMPLE, LET'S GOOOO!! I have lived in Vancouver, Washington my entire life and I cannot be more thrilled. The Couve is going to receive so many blessings!!!! General Conference was outstanding this weekend! I really enjoyed Tamara W. Runias talk. When she said, "Zoom out and look through a different lens, an eternal lens, that focuses on the bigger picture." Followed with President Nelsons' invitation to "Think Celestial" I couldn't help but ponder about the little things in life, I tend to stress so much about. Conference has always brought me a lot of peace, but this session seemed to enlighten me more than the others. I know as we start thinking celestial and zoom out, looking at our bigger picture through an eternal lens, that our capacity to receive personal revelation can increase as our faith increases. Our hearts will gradually change, and we will view the trials in our lives in a different light! If you haven't gotten ...

Act In All Diligence

Hello family and friends!!! I hope everyone is doing wonderful! I love and miss you all very much Its been a good week, lets get into it!  Tuesday we went to go visit Mary, a nonactive member. She hasn't been to church in over 10 years. We had such a good visit with her, we even ended up diggin out her old quad sciptures! They were up in a storage box that was all dusty haha. We invited her to pray before she read them and we will follow up next week! She was excited to get back into exercising her faith! Let's go Maryyyy!  Wednesday we had an apartment inspection with Elder and Sister Doty! I just love them. They make sure we're all safe with our fire alarms and everything and they always leave us with an amazing spiritual thought. (: We had a few appointments later in the day. Sister Abegglen and I are really trying to keep our appointments 30 minutes long. It's so hard. Michiganders like to talk and we just have to sit there like, haha its hard to interupt and get th...

Graces Baptism!

GRACE GOT BAPTIZED YESTERDAY!!!  It was such a happy day. I love Grace, she really is like a close girlfriend to me! I got to give a talk on the Holy Ghost! I did a fun little object lesson and it went well. I am definitely getting more comfortable being a missionary and I'm loving the people here, more and more each day! Grace had her best friend, Nathaniel baptized her. It was such a good meeting, the spirit was very strong and all of us were uplifted. (:  Taught our football player, AJ, the Plan Of Salvation at the park this week and he brought his 8 year old friend Lilly from school! The both participated and asked a lot of questions about the spirit world and heaven. They both just kept looking at eachother saying "That is SO COOL." Haha I enjoy teaching the Plan of Salvation because it truly is the Plan of Happiness. There is life after death, the Gosple is all about love and hope and I love telling people about it!  I hope everyone is doing amazing! I love hea...
