Things that brought me JOY this week: - Weeded Sister Hayes' lil garden behind her trailer - Morning sunrise runs & sunset finding on the Bay - Skipping rocks is my new hobbie and my poor comp has to watch every single one I throw haha it feels like I'm saying "MOM WATCH THIS!" worm's the best.  - Both of our new members brought friends to our lessons! Totally unexpected. They love the Gospel and want their neighbors and friends to have it in their lives! The Gospel changes people.  - We had Zone Conference on Wednesday and it was one I will never forget.  - Knocking was a bucket. - Johnny boy gave us his King Salmon he caught last night. He got out of jail two weeks ago and we sat and talked with him about where we came from, why we're here and where we're going ( The Plan of Salvation ) for almost an hour. Unforgettable.  - Sister Wehrmister and I sang "I Need Thee Every Hour" in Sacarament meeting - Comp study on the beach - Met 3 highscho...

Wow I love it here.  We swapped after district council on Wednesday. It's GORGEOUS here. The branch is tiny. We had a lil branch cookout with the Cheboygan branch and I got to get familiar with everyone!  My studies have never been better. I love getting to take an hour from my mornings and just spend time with Jesus. One of the biggest blessings of my mission is having time for that. My companion is so so cute! I don't know how to spell her last name but everyone calls her Sister Worm! I have LOVED getting to teach with her. She's very soft spoken and that has been something I've wanted to work on for a while now and I know this is going to be a good learning transfer for me!  We are teaching this 13 year old girl, Destiny. She has a cousin who likes to come to the volleyball nights the brach does for FHE. This cousin, Kyla, tells me every time I see her that I'm her best friend. she's 12. So tender. Kyla goes to another church but we invited her to come to chu...

HOLA.  Oh my goodness. What a week.  So many bittersweet goodbyes on Tuesday. I'm not much of a hugger, but I did not want to let Sister Abegglen go! I also got to see Elder Moyes and Elder Monson before they flew home which was special!  I made it to Portland with Sister Judson! We went knocking in Ionia and the first 3 doors were so mean and some people outside just straight up ignored us haha it was tough. Sis Judson was like "If this next door is like those other ones, we're going home." She was so done. We knock the next door and the most elect girl ever opens the door. Jessica was her name. Her friend Vina is going through a hard time. We gave her a Book of Mormon and prayed with her. The spirit was strong on her porch. Next door, we meet Larry, and got his number. The next door we meet Anne and her daughter Anastasia. They have been looking for a church to attend! We also gave them a Book of Mormon and set up a time to meet this next week. Making 4 friends in ...

Miracles In Detroit

Hello friends! So much has happened these last two weeks!!! My companion and I sometimes like to wrestle during our lunch and dinner hours. Some of these fights turn into water fights. Long story short, there was water on the kitchen floor, and we were both sprinting into the kitchen because the best weapon in a water fight is the side sink sprayer. Sister Abegglen slips on the water in the kitchen, and both of her feet flew up in the air, and she fell head first on the floor. We were laughing so hard. Until she thought she was concussed. That wasn't funny. That was a memory I'll never forget. She's all good now, but the bump on her head was insane.  Our mission got approved to go to the Detroit Temple!!! Detroit is outside our mission, and it took a lot of work to get it approved. We got to go do baptisms, and who do I see in the parking lot??! This family that used to be in my ward in Washington!!! I went to girls camp with this girl, and she's now serving a servic...
