Miracles In Detroit

Hello friends! So much has happened these last two weeks!!!

My companion and I sometimes like to wrestle during our lunch and dinner hours. Some of these fights turn into water fights. Long story short, there was water on the kitchen floor, and we were both sprinting into the kitchen because the best weapon in a water fight is the side sink sprayer. Sister Abegglen slips on the water in the kitchen, and both of her feet flew up in the air, and she fell head first on the floor. We were laughing so hard. Until she thought she was concussed. That wasn't funny. That was a memory I'll never forget. She's all good now, but the bump on her head was insane.

Our mission got approved to go to the Detroit Temple!!! Detroit is outside our mission, and it took a lot of work to get it approved. We got to go do baptisms, and who do I see in the parking lot??! This family that used to be in my ward in Washington!!! I went to girls camp with this girl, and she's now serving a service mission in Detroit. So special. THEN GUESS WHAT. The Boss family from Saginaw is literally taking pictures outside the Temple. I cried. They were my favorite family in Saginaw! They ended up being in our baptisimal session. That family has had a huge impact on my life. The temple is so special to me. Gathering Israel on both sides of the veil is the most fulfilling thing I have been able to do as a missionary.

Brother Coy! This member from Owosso has been spoiling Sis B, and I pretty much this whole transfer. A couple P-days ago, he took us to the fair with his grandson. He bought us 3 dozen cookies! His wife passed away a year ago, and he asked us when we both get home from our missions if we could do her temple work with him in Utah. It was the most precious invitation I had ever received. He got teary-eyed and said that we reminded him of her so much. February awaits the best temple trip with Brother Coy with Sister Abegglen. Wow. I just love it here. We had two member meals this last week and I got to hear some of the most powerful conversion stories. Celebrated my boy Travis' 5th birthday party. He's such a stud.

We had a super successful week! We found 9 friends and had some incredible Restoration lessons. The Lord has definitely prepared people in Caro. Dena is probably my favorite! She has such a fun story, and her house is one of those houses I'm gonna look back and remember. The thick smell of smoke, cat hair everywhere, and her noisy chihuahuas. Michigan is just the best. The culture, the ganders, the hot rain, the lakes. I never want to leave! I'm so grateful to be back.

We got our transfer news, and IM HEADED BACK DOWN TO THE LANSING ZONE. I'll be serving in Portland! West of my baby area, Owosso. I'm sad to be leaving Caro so early but excited for what the Lord has in store for me in Portland.

I have been LOVING my studies in Doctrine and Covenants! I never really got into it a lot before my mission, but it has answered so many of my questions and given me such peace this last transfer! I recommend chapters 11 and 88! I love this church, and I love my Savior.

Have a blessed week!
