PETOSKEY, MICHIGAN
Wow I love it here.
We swapped after district council on Wednesday. It's GORGEOUS here. The branch is tiny. We had a lil branch cookout with the Cheboygan branch and I got to get familiar with everyone!
My studies have never been better. I love getting to take an hour from my mornings and just spend time with Jesus. One of the biggest blessings of my mission is having time for that. My companion is so so cute! I don't know how to spell her last name but everyone calls her Sister Worm! I have LOVED getting to teach with her. She's very soft spoken and that has been something I've wanted to work on for a while now and I know this is going to be a good learning transfer for me!
We are teaching this 13 year old girl, Destiny. She has a cousin who likes to come to the volleyball nights the brach does for FHE. This cousin, Kyla, tells me every time I see her that I'm her best friend. she's 12. So tender. Kyla goes to another church but we invited her to come to church with Destiny on sunday and she said "only if Sister C is there" haha I love her. Kids are such a blessing on the mission. They seriously brighten my days out here! Anyway she came to church and we got to teach the two of them after sacrament meeting. We taught The Restoration. I almost cried. We told them to close their eyes while we shared Joseph Smiths' experience in the Sacred Grove. That was one of the most powerful lessons I've had on my mission.
Finding in Petoskey is tricky because there are a lot of tourist. But sending referrals to other states is still good work! I need to keep reminding myself that haha. We came across a Jehovas Witness while knocking and we ended up talking for 50 minutes! It was nuts. It was a fairly - pleasant convo we had haha. Answered a lot of questions. I'm getting better at using the scriptures which has made all the difference in lessons and in finding. It's only because my personal studies have been much more intentional!
This week, try and spend 20 minutes with your Savior everyday. I promise you, there will be a difference in your attitude, mood and countenance! "My dear brothers and sisters, I promise that as you prayerfully study the Book of Mormon every day, you will make better decisions—every day" - President Nelson
LMK IF YOU WANT A PETOSKEY STONE hehe
