Bible Bashers
Hello my friends!! I hope everyone is doing well. Please email/message me with all your fun updates and what's been going on in your lives, I truly want to know!
As you read from the title, Sister Abegglen and I had an interesting interaction this week. We got in contact with a Pastor over facebook and we were so excited to meet with him and kinda go back and fourth, discussing our beliefs. We decided to meet at a resturant and to sum things up, his intentions were not pure and only came to tell us that Joseph Smiths testimony is shakey in the Book of Mormon and how the Bible is the only true word of God...... It was hard to follow along with what he was saying but he proceeded onto the topic of temple marriage and how its wrong and how we won't be able to have spouses in heaven etc. Everytime we would flip to a scripture contridicting his thoughts ( D&C 132:15,19 ) he would close our books! Just insisting he was right. It was tense and the spirit was no where near us at that time. We wrapped up our thoughts and left him with our unshaken testimonies. This is exactly why I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church. Satan tries extra hard to tear it down because he knows we're apart of it. This pastor was very deceiving and it was an unsettling experience but a big testimony builder, nonetheless. I am a proud member of this church and I'm not afraid to share my testimony with others!
"Dare to be a Mormon; Dare to stand alone. Dare to have a purpose firm; Dare to make it known." - Thomas S. Monson
Football:
I have 5 sisters. Not once have I ever tossed a football around. It was always frisbee out in our yard with our dad! This 8 year old kid we're teaching has taught me all the moves. His name is AJ and everytime we see him, he has this petite football on him. He has taught me how to catch, kick and even throw a spiral!! It has honestly become quite the new hobby of mine. ( Dad I just know you're so proud ). We had the opportunity to teach him the Restoration of the Gosple on Friday. His mom served a mission years ago and really wants AJ to get baptized so that he can recieve the Holy Ghost. We put him on a soft date for October 7th. He's a bright kiddo and we're excited for him to grow his relationship with the Savior!
Stake Conference:
We had the privilege of hearing from Elder Richard G Youngblood at stake conference this weekend. We learned about the importance of Come Follow Me and how we need to fellowship others. All of us are children of God, we need to help others notice that! The Gosple of Jesus Christ is all about happiness and hope. I know sharing the Gosple has brought me so much joy here in Michigan. It strengthens my testimony and helps me see people the way Heavenly Father does. You are loved!
