1 Month Down Already!!

Hi friends!
This week has pulled at my heart strings quite a bit. My oldest sister Kayla and her family live in Midland Michigan, a little over an hour away from Owosso. I had my first zone conference in Lansing, and my mission president INVITED MY SISTER!!! It was such a blessing to see her, even Brody (her husband) and my niece Summer came along. I even got to see Elder Mower who is from my home ward in Washington! The lord knew I needed to see some familiar faces this week. I've been struggling with the adjustment more than I thought I would've. Seeing little Summer come running down the hallway at the church with two flowers for my trainer and I was just the best sight, I almost cried! They took us out to TRH for dinner and like always we all pretty much filled up on the rolls haha. Grateful for my fam!

Terry. Oh man this guy. He cracks me up just like my dad! Terry is 60+ years old, his wife, Debbie has been a member her whole life but Terry has not. He started to come to church with Debbie and the previous elders have taught him just about everything so now he has a baptism date! He struggles with coffee, big time. We reminded him about the word of wisdom and how the lord asks us not to drink it. He's a truck driver and said it gives him the energy he needs. We then promised him that if he tried to cut down his intake of coffee everyday, little by little, that the lord would bless him and give him the energy he would need. The spirit was so strong as we were having this discussion on their porch. Terry smiled and said he'd try his best. The lord loves effort! Terry's got this and will be ready for August 19th (:

Logan!
Logan is somebody that every missionary wishes they come across on their mission. He reached out to us, asking for help moving this lady's stuff out of her house. We have been praying for an opportunity to serve the people here in Owosso and Logan was definitely an answer to our prayers. We showed up to the lady's home and it was just Logan there moving things by himself while smokin cigarettes. The first thing he said to us was "oh I was expecting some bigger guys.." (he was expecting the elders that we just replaced) I said "hey hey we got this, we're tough!" - like I was lowkey joking but man this guy gave it to us let me tell you. Next thing I know we're lugging down BIG box TVs and these massive shelves down such narrow stairs. I haven't sweat that much since trek hahaha like seriously. Logan told us he had been praying more and asked if we could meet up again for a lesson. This man wants the gospel in his life so badly and we're excited to teach him about it! Did I mention he didn't even know the lady. He was riding his bike past her house and saw her moving things by herself and asked her if she needed help. He told my comp and I that he tries to help out at least one person a day. From moving her out of her house to simply just opening the door for someone. Logan is so selfless and kind hearted. He will be coming to church next week! We're excited for him!!

Knocking
Hahahahaha okay. So knocking is what I imagined my entire mission looking like. Turns out Michigan is a heavy Facebook proselyting Mission. The amount of friends found on Facebook that end up getting baptized here is at a pretty high rate. To be honest im not a big fan of posting everyday and "Facebook Finding" people here in Owosso, however, it has done wonders for the work here and following other missionaries has helped open my eyes to different ways to involve followers! Im working on having a better attitude about it. We're told to accept most follow requests and help spread messages about Jesus Christ as often as we can cause you never know who it'll reach! My trainer and I have been knocking only one time so far and almost every house has 3+ dogs. I'm very afraid of little dogs. We will get up to a house and once we knock all you hear is so much barking and I literally shake on the porch while we waiting for the owner to answer the door. We were pretty unsuccessful knocking but we gave out about 5 Book of Mormons! In my nightly prayers I pray for those who received one that they will actually get the chance to read it! We are planting seeds. The work is good, the people are good and God is Good! I love being a missionary!
