The Reason For The Season

"One of the most beautiful symbols of the birth of Jesus Christ into this world is light. The appearance of the long-promised Messiah brought light to a darkened world." President Henry B. Eyring  If you haven't watched The Christ Child  go check it out!  Also Luke 15 is a MUST before Christmas (:  Some notes from Zone Conference I want to share!  True faith ALWAYS leads to righteous action. Look for the "love letters" from the Lord. Strive to have Christ in your countenance. LET DOCTRINE DRIVE DECISION MAKING.  We got to sing with the Elders for our Christmas program in church on Sunday! Sister Williams and I are speaking next Sunday as well. The more I get up on the stand, the more comfortable I get haha! We had a busy week, running to doctors appointments in Grand Rapids and Zone Conference up in Mount Pleasant! I have gotten to do A TON of studying while my companion has been recovering from her procedure. I have really come to not o...

The Capital

I have been transfered to Lansing, MI!  I am so excited to be finishing my mission in such a great area! It was hard saying goodbye to everyone in Marshall, especially my companion Sister Messick. I came into Lansing with another hermana! Hermana Williams! We are white washing the area and almost everyone here speaks French or Creole. We have been trying our best to learn the language because we are teaching this family of 15 that only speaks French! Like where are we?!?? We have taken a few trips to Grand Rapids for some hospital trips (everyone is okay) and we will be going again this week after zone conference. Crazy times. We are 10 minutes away from our mission President and it has been fun getting to work so close with our APs. The ward here is the most diverse ward I've ever seen. The roads in Lansing are so confusing and we're runnin around in this little petite truck haha. We get to volunteer at the Light The World event in G-RAP next week and we're SO EXCITED.  ...

Luke Challenge

Hi!!!  I would like to invite everyone to read one chapter in Luke every night before Christmas. There are 24 chapters in Luke and what great way to read and learn about Jesus Christs' life by Christmas Eve! Do it  Knocking in the snow is the most exciting thing, let me tell you. There's just such a thrill going door to door in our big coats, hats and gloves. A lot of people let us into their homes. Families in Marshall are very kind.  This week was a little tricky with teaching because it was Thanksgiving so a lot of people were out of town. But it gave us good opportunities to reflect on our own blessings.  Sister Peterson gave Sister Messick and I haircuts after we had Thanksgiving dinner. She brought me down her mission scrapbook and told me wonderful stories of her time serving the Lord in Thailand. She's someone I look up to a lot! There was a big parade downtown Marshall tonight and we got to go with some of our members!  I met a guy who served a mis...
